Amy DiRenzo has been an educator, researcher, and field instructor in the outdoor recreation and adventure education fields for nearly 20 years. She is an Associate Professor in the Recreation, Parks, & Leisure Studies Department at SUNY Cortland. Her scholarship primarily involves social-psychological aspects of adventure and outdoor learning, particularly with regard to the development of empowerment, resilience, and well-being. She has worked as an instructor for a number of outdoor schools/programs including Outward Bound, high school and university outdoor programs. Amy will be speaking on the impact natural environments can have on human health, with a particular focus on the connection between adventuring outdoors and wellbeing.
